About this exercise

Counting how many multiples of a number fall inside a range.

How to solve it

Divide the upper limit by the number and take the whole part. That counts every multiple from the first one upwards.

Worked example

Multiples of 5 up to 25 number 25 : 5 = 5, namely 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25.

Common mistake

Reading less than as less than or equal to. Whether the boundary itself counts changes the answer by one.
