Free interactive math game: Division — Fractions. Part of the Fractions category on MathKite.
Taken from the generator that powers this exercise. A fresh set appears every time the page is opened, and the printable worksheet holds ten of them.
Dividing one fraction by another.
Turn the second fraction upside down and multiply instead. Dividing asks how many of the second fraction fit inside the first, which is why the answer is often larger than expected.
One half divided by one quarter becomes one half times four, which is 2 — two quarters fit inside a half.
Flipping the first fraction. Only the divisor, the fraction you are dividing by, gets turned over.
